Stunning Highland Hides for Sale

We've sold five hides already and these are our last two. Once they're gone, it'll be a few years before we have any more available — so if you've been thinking about it, now's the time.

Both have a few natural marks and imperfections from the tanning and processing, so they're priced fairly to reflect that — have a proper look at the photos and details below before buying.

Each hide is completely one-of-a-kind, vegetable tanned by a chemical-free tannery in Ballarat.

Care: Avoid direct sunlight. Shake or vacuum lightly as needed.

Highland Cow Hide - White

This cow was registered as a white Highland, though her coat is really more of a soft cream. She gave herself a good scratch before her hide was taken, so the coat's a little thinner in spots than we'd usually have. There are also a few cuts in the hide itself — the abattoir wasn't as careful as we'd have liked when removing it. The cuts don't go right through, but they're there. She's still a lovely, soft, warm-toned hide — just one with a bit of a story. Sold as-is.

Highland Cow Hide - Dun

A rich, warm dun hide that would've been near perfect — except a large patch of hair came away during the tanning process. This isn't something we've had happen before, and unfortunately it can't be fixed. There are also a few smaller bald patches and a small hole in the hide. The main bald patch sits roughly in the centre, so it would tuck neatly out of sight under a coffee table or low piece of furniture — and the rest of the hide does all the talking. Honest pricing to match. Sold as-is.
